How do I connect my video game console to my computer through av inputs?
I have AV inputs on the TV tuner on my computer, which is run with Windows Media Center. I want to hook my Wii up to the AV inputs, and play the wii through my monitor (or computer). The Tuner also has S-Video, but I don't have an S-Video cable. It seems like there should be a switch-input mode...does anyone know how to run a console through your computer?
I'm not sure about running it through your computer, but you could run it directly into your monitor. I did that with the X360 and a HDMI cable before I bought an HDTV, worked perfectly.

If you've been lucky enough to have recently acquired an Xbox 360 console and a few new games, you're probably already looking for schemes to save money by finding a way to copy Xbox 360 games to your computer's hard drive. It's actually quite simple. Every experienced gamer knows all the tricks, and you can learn them easily.
If you've actually paid for any of your own games, you know that the price is quite high. It's reached the point where Xbox 360 games are becoming unaffordable for the average gamer. A scratched or damaged game disk can cause a personal financial catastrophe. That type of catastrophe can be avoided if you simply learn to copy Xbox games to your hard drive, and have the means to make clean backup copies of your original games.
The first hurdle to be crossed is the concern of new gamers about the legality of copying Xbox 360 games. Copying is perfectly legal for the owner of a game if the purpose is to make a backup copy of that game for safekeeping. The only situation where copying is definitely illegal is when the copies are being made to sell or to distribute for a profit. That is a definite NO! All you need to get started making legal backup copies are a DVD burner and a gaming DVD burning software application.
For those who have had considerable experience burning CDs on their computers, the copying process to copy Xbox games to a hard drive should be fairly straightforward. It is, in fact, very similar to burning music CDs. The major difference to the process when trying to copy an Xbox 360 disk is the copying software required. Because of the copy protection added to the Xbox 360 games by the manufacturer, you cannot make a copy using your existing software used for copying CDs. You'll need to buy or acquire a good game copying software application that is specifically designed to bypass the manufacturer's copy protection scheme.
Once you have acquired and installed the game copying software on your computer, all you'll need is your original game disk to copy, and a blank DVD disk upon which to copy it. To start the copying process, click the desktop icon for your new game copying software, insert the original game into the DVD drive when directed to do so, and follow the instructions displayed on the screen. When the game has been copied, you'll be instructed to insert the blank disc to receive the copied files. Nothing could be easier. Once you've completed the burning process, you'll have a fresh backup of your valuable Xbox 360 game.
Some gamers store their backups away for safekeeping. That's a reasonable way to protect a software copy, but is really the wrong approach. It's the original game that needs protection. If you wish to trade or sell the original game, you'll get a better price if it's in top condition. Store the original Xbox disk away safely, and retain the backup for routine use. Be sure to play it at least once to ensure that you burned a good copy.
One really great game copying software application that has found acceptance in the gaming community is the CopyThatGame system. It is guaranteed to get you past any currently used copy protection. Simply follow the detailed instructions given in their tutorial explaining how to copy Xbox games to a hard drive. Having the capability to make backup copies of your Xbox 360 games will give you a needed sense of security that your valuable Xbox 360 games are safe.
